The Ernst Apartment building has been a fixture in Oldtown Oak Harbor since 1940. Unit 203 is one of only two apartments located upstairs, so it is extremely quiet and private.
The upstairs halls are covered with original art, including some from our tenants. If you are an artist, we can arrange for some wall space for you.
This may be the most beautiful, unique studio apartment in Oak Harbor. It combines 1940's style with a full-custom architectural remodel. A beautiful example is the built-in kitchen table floating above the floor. The entrance archway to the kitchen is pure 1940. They don't make them that way anymore!
The living room has a pair of big swing-out windows that look out over Pioneer Way. There is nothing better than hanging out in your apartment with the windows open during the Oak Harbor Music Festival which occurs every year on the Labor Day weekend.
Here, you can see the bathroom door to the left, the entrance door just to its right, and the kitchen nook. Check out the custom-made wine rack over the fridge.
Lots of natural light, plus lots of LED lighting. All the cabinetry is full-custom, designed and built to make the most of the space. The kitchen is equipped with a full-size range, fridge and sink.
The living room still has its beautiful hardwood floor from 1940.
The closet is on the left. The closet is huge for a studio apartment. Back in 1940, the heat was provided by the small grate located near the floor. These days, the heat is provided by the wall heater located to its left. One advantage of a studio is that it is easy to heat!
Seriously, the walk-in closet is huge!
The bathroom also received the full architectural treatment. The cabinetry is all custom made including the counter top.
The shower is full-size, which is nice for a studio apartment!
Here is the floorplan of unit #203 itself. The half-circle in the kitchen area is a custom built-in floating kitchen table.
The laundry facilities are free and are shared with only one other tenant. They are located just outside your apartment's door!
The view looking west out the living room window. The apartment is right in the middle of Oldtown Oak Harbor. The Labor Day Music Festival takes place every year on Pioneer Way, right outside your front door!
The view looking east out the living room window.
True to its 1940 roots, there is no on-site parking at the building. There are two large free parking lots located less than a block away. The photo shows the apartment building marked in red, and the two free parking lots marked in green. The building is also very close to the downtown transit hub in Oak Harbor.
